United Bank of Colorado
555 Lincoln Avenue, Steamboat Springs, Colorado
Building now used by Community First Bank
When United Bank came to Steamboat in 1975, they built a temporary structure to give us time to design and construct a new building that would meet all of their needs. Operating from their temporary facility gave us time to design a building that would best meet their needs without rushing the design process. We completed the steel and wood frame building in 1976. The design included an unfinished basement for future expansion, and foundations and vertical columns to carry a second floor if additional space was ever needed.
By 1984, the bank had outgrown its initial space and we were called in to complete plans to finish the basement area. Our challenge was to remodel the facility while allowing the bank to remain in full operation throughout the entire construction process. We were pleased to complete the job without interfering with the bank’s operation or inconveniencing customers.
